ESCATEC Selects Aras for Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management

Aras announced that ESCATEC has selected the Aras Innovator suite for enterprise PLM to streamline product information management and enable concurrent engineering worldwide. From R&D to manufacturing, ESCATEC will rely on Aras to manage product data for ESCATEC's global R&D, process engineering, account management, shop floor and other processes across the company’s business units. Specific processes include Bill of Materials management, document management and engineering change management along with Solid Edge CAD integration and enterprise search. ESCATEC chose Aras after conducting a successful proof-of-concept project with Aras. ESCATEC identified the comprehensive functionality, flexibility and ease of configuration as a key difference compared to other PLM systems, noting that Aras enables the introduction of process changes in step with evolving customer demands. Further, the various locations of ESCATEC in Europe and Malaysia will be able to share product information online with Aras making global collaboration and simultaneous development possible.
Airbus and Aras Sign Strategic Partner Agreement

Aras announced a strategic partner agreement with Airbus to use the Aras Innovator platform and solution suite for engineering business processes across the enterprise for up to 30,000 users or more. Several PLM Platforms were evaluated by Airbus for the ability to enable simple, agile solution delivery, and Aras was retained as the preferred platform based on: Significant coverage of expected scope; Open architecture with high-end data modeling 'on the fly', no development involved; Upgrade services for customizations included as part of subscription; Easy integration & handling; Long term viability and total cost of ownership. Out-of-the-box functional requirements included data & document management, lifecycle management, change management, project management and access rights management for security. IS architecture requirements included deployability, connectors, migration & data loading, and support, along with back-end & front-end IT capabilities.
JAMCO Corporation Selects Aras Innovator to Serve as the PLM Backbone for the Company’S Upgraded Product Development Environment

Aras announced that JAMCO Corporation has selected Aras Innovator to serve as the PLM backbone for the company’s upgraded product development environment. JAMCO will rely on Aras Innovator to streamline collaboration across its global design processes and bring together both technical users in the engineering department and business users from other departments. After evaluating several PLM solutions, JAMCO chose to integrate and replace two traditional PDM systems with the more modern and flexible platform technology in Aras. The open architecture of Aras will enable platform-independent data sharing among JAMCO’s locations in Japan and overseas and collaboration across the extended enterprise. JAMCO also identified the impact that Aras PLM’s flexibility will have on new initiatives, including design outsourcing to overseas subsidiaries as well as improved responsiveness and disaster recovery via greater data decentralization.
