NTT Communications Corporation Key Developments

NTT Communications Corporation Announces Launch of Multi-Cloud Connect

NTT Communications Corporation announced the launch of Multi-Cloud Connect, an optional feature on NTT Com's Arcstar Universal One that enables enterprises to access third party public cloud services through its high-performance MPLS network for enhanced security and improved connectivity. While enterprise adoption of cloud services continues to accelerate, most of these services are public cloud-based and accessed via the Internet. Inconsistent Internet performance is a major impediment to widespread cloud adoption, especially for MNCs with highly distributed end-users. Multi-Cloud Connect will address these performance issues by connecting the Arcstar Universal One MPLS network directly to public cloud service provider platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Multi-Cloud Connect will initially offer direct access to Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms in Tokyo on August 26th, 2015, followed by London later in 2015. Security and Performance: Multi-Cloud Connect connects to Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms via a security-enhanced, private Layer 3 connection, not via the internet. Hybrid-cloud solution: Leveraging its 130 self-owned data centers worldwide, NTT Com can provide customers with a hybrid solution that suits their different application needs: whether it's a mix of on-premise, private cloud (Enterprise Cloud) and/or public cloud. Global reach: After initial launches in Tokyo and London, Multi-Cloud Connect will continue to expand globally to other parts of Asia and to North America.

NTT Communications Corporation Unveils New Speech-Recognition API for Multiple Browsers

NTT Communications Corporation, or NTT Com, an ICT solutions provider, has unveiled a new speech-recognition application programming interface, or API, compatible with multiple browsers, available for no charge on SkyWay, the company's open platform for web-based browser real-time communications, or WebRTC. SkyWay is NTT Com's free platform for leveraging WebRTC technologies. NTT Com also announced new English-based features of the platform for easier application development, such as a screen-sharing library, multi-party library that connects multiple users, Web of Thing (WoT) sample code, and security guideline. The speech-recognition API is programmed with JavaScript for multiple browsers, so users do not need to install new software. Also, SkyWay provides its own speech-recognition server, which recognizes spoken voices with high speed and high precision, leveraging the latest technologies of NTT Laboratories. The speech-recognition API is currently compatible with Chrome, Firefox and Opera, and Microsoft's Edge is planned to be added. The service, now available only in Japanese, will be launched in English at an undetermined point in the future. This new library enables users to create group chatting services with just several lines of code. This new library enables users to freely develop screen-sharing extensions (e.g. Extension for Chrome or AddOn for Firefox) with just several lines of code. This open source WoT sample code enables users to develop WoT applications for easy robotic manipulation. Via the same format as open source, this new WebRTC guideline covers diverse security information and technologies that developers new to check when creating and using applications that leverage WebRTC.

NTT Communications Establishes IoT Office

NTT Communications Corporation announced the establishment of its IoT Office on August 1 to provide customers with secure IoT solutions that leverage the company's global network, cloud and datacenters. The IoT Office, by effectively leveraging IoT, expects to help customers raise their profitability and expand their businesses. Solutions developed by the IoT Office will enable enterprises to utilize NTT Coms secure global IoT environment more easily than ever before. In addition, the office will steadily add to its capabilities by collaborating with the providers of devices and application platforms. NTT Com will provide one-stop application platforms that store, visualize and analyze data collected from IoT devices. NTT Com will provide a secure, global and highly affordable network connected directly with the cloud and data centers. Users can choose where to store their data among some 130 datacenters worldwide, including cloud bases, and deal with laws, such as the EU Data Protection Directive, in the preferred locale. Mega-data connection to remote datacenters enables customers to easily leverage massive data collected through NTT Coms IoT solutions.
