Carbon Design Systems, Inc. and Breker Verification Systems, Inc. announced availability of Carbon Performance Analysis Kits (CPAKs) pre-loaded with embedded system verification software and a direct link to Breker's TrekSoC(TM) visualization environment. The joint solution will enable virtual prototype users to validate the functionality and architectural features of their system-on-chip (SoC) designs using self-verifying, system-level software test cases. As one element of the partnership, Breker will publish CPAKs containing the embedded tests and TrekSoC integration on Carbon's System Exchange web portal. Engineers will be able to quickly modify or extend this design to model the behavior of their own SoC. The system tests generated by TrekSoC enable verification of critical system-level issues such as cache coherency, intellectual property (IP) integration, data ordering, multiple CPU interactions, and other issues typically found later in the design cycle when they are more difficult to address.

As part of the partnership, Arteris will have access to the full range of Carbon solutions including Carbon Performance Analysis Kits (CPAKs) containing the most advanced SoC processor IP, Carbon SoCDesigner for fast, accurate system modeling and Carbon Model Studio for 100% accurate model creation. In addition, Arteris customers will be able to create 100% accurate virtual models of Arteris' current and future interconnect offerings at the Carbon IP Exchange web portal. Carbon Design Systems Collaborates with Freescale to Showcase New Capabilities at Freescale Technology Forum

Carbon Design Systems Inc. announced that it recently previewed its newly released ARM(R) Cortex(TM)-A57 Carbon Performance Analysis Kit (CPAK) at the Freescale Technology Forum. The April 15, 2014 release includes multiple CPAKs featuring the ARM Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 processor cores. CPAKs enable debug and analysis of 64-bit executables and come complete with pre-built software code to configure and exercise the systems. These multicore, multi-cluster CPAKs are designed to be easily customized by the user and enable designer productivity within minutes of download. The release also includes a new version of the Carbon Traffic Generator and System Analyzer and support for ARM Fast Models 8.2. A model of the ARM CoreLink NIC-400 Network Interconnect supports Swap & Play, Carbon's exclusive technology to swap from a virtual prototype executing at 100s of MIPS to an equivalent virtual prototype running with 100% hardware accuracy. The value of Carbon's new multicore, multi-cluster Cortex-A57 CPAK was demonstrated at the Freescale Technology Forum where the CPAK was customized to represent various configurations of Freescale's upcoming QorIQ packet processor offerings. The interconnect was configured to allow injection of packet processing workload traffic into the system leveraging Freescale IP. This gives confidence in optimizing overall system performance by leveraging the CPAK's 100% accurate models.
