Institute of International Finance, Inc Names Andres Portilla as Managing Director, Regulatory Affairs

The Institute of International Finance announced that Andres Portilla has been promoted to Managing Director for Regulatory Affairs. Portilla previously served as Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Institute. In that role, he helped lead advocacy efforts on issues related to prudential standards (both capital and liquidity) for banks and insurance companies, systemic risk, resolution, financial infrastructure, and issues around emerging market regulatory practices.

The Institute of International Finance Names Jean-Charles Sambor as Director of Asia/Pacific

The Institute of International Finance announced that Jean-Charles Sambor will become IIF's Director for the Asia/Pacific region. Sambor will be based in Singapore where he will head IIF's new regional office. In his new role, Sambor will have primary responsibility for the development and coordination of the Institute's economic analysis of countries in the region and will also play an important role in the IIF's broader capital markets and regulatory efforts, as well as actively engaging with IIF members in the region. Bejoy Das Gupta, IIF's chief economist for Asia/Pacific, based in the IIF's Washington office, will be working closely with Sambor. Before joining the IIF, Sambor was Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Emerging and Frontier Markets Fixed Income at Everest Capital.
