NEC Corporation Launches iPASOLINK EX Advanced, High Capacity Radio

NEC Corporation of America announced the launch of the new iPASOLINK EX Advanced, an ultra-compact radio communication system utilizing Adaptive Modulation and Bandwidth together enabling 10 Gbps wireless throughput capacity in a single channel. This transmission capacity delivers carrier grade Ethernet functionality (H-QoS, ERPS) and is equivalent to that of optical fibers, making the new product ideal for use in mobile backhaul networks for high-speed mobile services, such as LTE-Advanced and 5G. The new radio, adopting E-band millimeter wave frequency range (71-86GHz), achieves low latency and high transmission capacity of 10Gbps within a single channel, more than three times higher than NEC's previous iPASOLINK EX model. The new product's Adaptive Modulation and Bandwidth Radio (AMBR) feature enables dynamic adjustment of its modulation method and communication bandwidth according to the particular application, weather conditions and link distance, allowing it to maintain high quality network connections even in severe weather conditions.

NEC Corporation of America, Inc. Launches SmartScan

NEC Corporation of America announced that it is introducing SmartScan, the biometric industry’s most advanced multi-modal capture solution. SmartScan breaks from convention with an extraordinarily functional ergonomic design and a Microsoft Windows 10 user interface delivering better biometric technology. These advancements, coupled with NEC’s commitment to service and support will exceed the needs of law enforcement agencies and civil departments for many years to come. NEC’s SmartScan is different. It starts with a modern user interface and intuitive screens utilizing Microsoft Windows 10 with modern touch, pinch-and-zoom and swipe features now common on all devices. Then it is housed in a visually pleasing, height adjustable, ergonomically designed kiosk with larger foot pedals for improved fingerprint and palmprint capture. Comprehensive managed services offer both centralized and remote managed service options, both backed by the extensive knowledge available for onsite local and managed remote support. Finally, enhanced security measures protect SmartScan from intrusion and malware attacks. The result is a fresh, new approach to a multi-modal biometrics capture solution that leads to better quality capture and guaranteed service level agreements.
