Epson America, Inc. Expands its Partnership with NBCUniversal on Make Me a Millionaire Inventor

Epson America Inc. has expanded its partnership with NBCUniversal on the recently debuted CNBC primetime show, 'Make Me a Millionaire Inventor,' to support small business success and innovation. Through custom vignettes that provide small business tips and technology solutions, including the Epson(r) SureColor(r) T-Series printers, Epson BrightLink(r) Pro collaborative meeting room solutions and Epson EcoTank(TM) all-in-one Supertank color printers with large ink reservoirs, the partnership inspires small businesses to bring their innovative product concepts to reality. Along with the custom vignettes, the Epson BrightLink Pro 1430Wi is featured in the CNBC primetime show, providing the Blue Fish Studio engineering team with a valuable asset in the design process. In the August 19 episode, the 1430Wi is used to demonstrate how Blue Fish Studio turned the SnoCone kiosk design into reality. The annotation functionality provided inventors Shane and Maria Freeman of Beaumont, Texas with clear insight into the design changes Blue Fish Studio made in order to create a prototype.

NBCUniversal May Invest In Buzzfeed And Vox Media

NBCUniversal Media, LLC is close to a deal to invest $250 million in Buzzfeed, Inc., in a transaction that will value it at around $1.5 billion, according to a report. News webside Re/code, citing unnamed sources, said NBCUniversal has a "handshake" agreement with BuzzFeed. NBCUniversal also is negotiating to invest in Vox Media, Inc. in a deal that would value Vox at $850 million. The report added that there is a possibility that negotiations could fall apart, but that both investments were close to being consummated.

NBCUniversal Announces Executive Changes

NBCUniversal has named Ian Trombley as president of operations and technical services (O&TS). Trombley will be responsible for the company's owned studio and post production operations servicing television and film, including the network operating centers in Denver, New York, and New Jersey. He also will lead global security, business services and the facility management of NBCUniversal's real estate portfolio. Trombley will report to NBCUniversal EVP Adam Miller. Most recently, Trombley was EVP of television operations where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and engineering for 30 Rock studios, facilities and the on-air and non-linear origination for the company's portfolio of networks. Trombley succeeds John Wallace of NBCUniversal, who joined NBC in 1988 as a member of the famed Page Program and rose through the ranks, holding a variety of leadership positions throughout the company during his tenure. Trombley will work alongside Wallace for the next five weeks to ensure a smooth transition before assuming the role on 8 September. Trombley joined NBCUniversal from GE where he had previously held positions within the Quality and Information Technology divisions.
