Crowley Wins Technical Management Contract for Six MSC Marine Prepositioning Ships

Crowley Maritime Corp.'s announced that a new technical management contract for six Military Sealift Command (MSC) Maritime Prepositioning Ships (MPS). Services provided by Crowley will be full turnkey operation and management of the fleet, including crewing, and scheduled and unscheduled repair and dry-docking. The turnover phase will begin in late September. These ships are used to preposition U.S. Marine Corps vehicles, equipment and ammunition throughout the world. Prepositioned ships in each squadron have sufficient equipment, supplies and ammunition to support about 17,000 personnel for 30 days, and are self-sustaining with cranes that enable them to unload their own cargo.

He will remain based in Jacksonville and continue to report to Carl Fox senior vice president, corporate services. As vice president of IT, Brown is responsible for the teams managing network infrastructure and operations, end-user support, voice and data communications, technology sourcing and delivery, information security, process engineering and business solutions. Brown joined Crowley in 2001 and has worked for multiple lines of business as well as information technology in a variety of roles during his tenure. In his most recent position, Brown led the business solutions group, which was responsible for aligning IT projects and resources to the Company’s business objectives.

Crowley Maritime Corporation announced that Mark Miller has been promoted to vice president, corporate and marketing communications, within Crowley’s corporate services group. He will remain based in Jacksonville and continue to report to Carl Fox senior vice president, corporate services. Miller directs all aspects of internal and external communications around the world for Crowley and its commercial subsidiaries. He, along with his team, is responsible for the companies’ brand development and protection; media relations and crisis communications; strategic development, execution and oversight of marketing communications, including advertising, website development, internet marketing, social media engagement, content marketing and digital and printed collateral. Miller, who most recently served as Crowley’s director of corporate and marketing communications, joined the company in 1995 as manager, public relations and advertising, for Crowley’s liner services group. Over the years he assumed communications roles of increasing scope and responsibility for the entire corporation. Prior to joining Crowley he served as manager, public relations and advertising, for the Jacksonville Port Authority (JaxPort) and as a business reporter with the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville.
