Zipcar Appoints Nicholas Cole as President, International

Zipcar announced that Nicholas Cole has been appointed as President, International. In this role, Cole will be responsible for driving Zipcar's international expansion in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia and Australia, and for accelerating the Company's growth in these key territories. Cole will replace Massimo Marsili, who has been appointed managing director, Western Region, Avis Budget EMEA. Cole brings with him a wealth of experience in the transportation industry and adeep knowledge and passion for car sharing and the role it plays in shaping the future of urban mobility. Prior to joining Zipcar, Cole spent more than 15 years at Daimler AG, where he held a variety of senior roles across the company, most recently as president and chief executive officer of Daimler's Car2Go car sharing subsidiary in North America.
Zipcar Expands Car Sharing in the Washington, D.C. Area

Zipcar is expanding to provide additional 'wheels when you want them' to residents, businesses, visitors and students. In the last four months, Zipcar has added an additional 35 locations to better serve communities such as Logan Circle, Brookland and Capitol Hill. Zipcar is also adding dozens of cars to Wards 7 and 8, with new locations along Benning Road, Branch Avenue and Minnesota Avenue, so that residents in those areas have a convenient and cost-effective alternative to get around the District. Zipcar is also expanding along the major transit lines throughout the greater Washington, DC area. In addition to adding more cars in more places, Zipcar D.C. announced that construction is under way for a newly expanded downtown office. The larger space, located at 403 8th Street NW in the Penn Quarter, will allow Zipcar to host more on-site member appreciation events, give more members access to visit with questions or to join, and provide more working space for Zipcar’s D.C. employees. Construction is expected to be completed this summer.
Zipcar and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Enter into Partnership

Zipcar and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) have entered into a partnership to provide vehicles for hourly or daily reservations at ten Metro park-and-ride locations. Twenty Zipcars will be available, two at each of the ten locations, providing residents, businesses and visitors with access to vehicles along busy transit corridors. Zipcar allows members to reserve a car by the hour or the day. Membership starts as low as $7 per month and members can choose vehicles such as sedans, hybrids, luxury vehicles and cargo vans. Zipcar will be available for reservation at the El Segundo lot, Indiana parking lot, La Cienega/Jefferson, Lincoln/Cypress, North Hollywood south lot, Pierce College, Universal City north lot, Van Nuys, Westlake/MacArthur Park lot and the Willow Street lot.
