GCT Semiconductor announced that its advanced LTE chip GDM7243M powers the new 4G LTE home router, the URoad-Home 2+, developed by Modacom and was recently launched by UQ Communications(UQ) in Japan. The new home router, ideal for use as a residential home gateway, is optimized for use on UQ’s TDD-LTE-compliant network, and supports 110 Mbps downlink. GCT’s market-proven chip, GDM7243M, supports Category 4 FDD/TDD-LTE and was fully certified by KDDI in July 2014.

GCT Semiconductor announced that its 4G LTE-Advanced chip, GDM7243Q, powers the new 4G LTE mobile router developed by NEC Platforms (NECPF), and announced by UQ Communications (UQ) in Japan earlier this year. UQ plans to launch this ultra high speed mobile router early March 2015. GCT’s FDD-TDD-LTE Advanced chip features advanced performance multi-antenna technology, 4x4 MIMO, that improves LTE coverage, peak throughput and spectral efficiency. GDM7243Q delivers Cat 5/6/7 throughputs with speeds up to 300 Mbps, and supports Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and eMBMS (LTE broadcast) as well as other advanced features.

Ecrio Inc., and GCT Semiconductor Inc., announce a collaboration to provide an integrated solution including Ecrio's FlexIMS Voice over LTE (VoLTE) software and GCT's Category 4 LTE Chipset, GDM7243S. This integrated solution of GCT and Ecrio recently completed pre-certification with a Tier 1 Operator. This turnkey solution fully meets the requirements of LTE-based phones and CPEs, both for traditional landline replacement as well as 3G to 4G upgrades. The pre-certified solution allows OEMs and ODMs to rapidly accelerate their VoLTE-enabled product rollouts worldwide. GCT's GDM7243S combines RF and baseband to offer a highly integrated solution, optimized to ensure high performance and low power consumption, as well as increased battery life. GCT's chip delivers an embedded VoLTE implementation for a variety of LTE connected devices.
