Some of Australia’s largest private equity firms are circling the New Zealand secondary schools provider Academic Colleges Group Limited, which is being sold in a process run by investment banks Macquarie Capital and UBS. It is understood parties interested in the business include Pacific Equity Partners and Quadrant Private Equity Pty Limited, while CHAMP Private Equity and Archer Capital may also be in discussions about an acquisition.
Koch Industries, Pacific Equity Propose Takeover To Bradken

Koch Industries and Pacific Equity Partners have made a takeover approach to Bradken Limited (ASX:BKN) valuing the Australian mining products firm at AUD 430 million. Bradken said the proposal did not represent fair value and that it had decided not to engage further. Bradken shares jumped 21% as rumours of afresh bid circulated before Bradken requested a trading halt in mid-session. Koch Industries declined to comment. Representatives for Pacific Equity did not immediately reply to requests for comment.

Pacific Equity Partners is reportedly seeking to sell Link Market Services Limited. Pacific Equity Partners is exploring a dual-track process for the $3 billion-plus sale of Link Market Services. Macquarie Group, which is advising Pacific Equity Partners and is also a shareholder in Link, has discussed sale options with trade buyers and private equity firms in recent weeks. Also a second-half float had been slated but it's believed Pacific Equity Partners is serious about the dual-track process.
