Part of The Greenbrier Companies of freight car manufacturing, leasing, and maintenance companies, GRS has plants in nine locations across the US, where it holds a large share of the railcar wheel/axle maintenance business. The new company, operating under the name GBSummit, LLC, is establishing a railcar axle machining plant adjacent to a GRS owned railcar wheel/axle maintenance plant in San Bernadino California this April 2016 and will launch operations in early 2017.
