American Textile Company hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on January 30, 2013, at its Tifton, Ga. production and distribution facility. The ceremony kicked off an expansion that will bring its total space to over 400,000 square feet and double the workforce over the next five years. Tifton's strategic location 180 miles south of Atlanta provides efficient access to key regional and national customers. The Tifton facility produces and distributes millions of bed pillows annually. Consumer demand for the company's growing portfolio of specialty bedding products has enabled American Textile Company to outpace its competitors--growing by about 15% annually. Originally, the company projected to have 120 employees in the Tifton plant by 2016. It has exceeded those projections by 40% -two years early-and will employ 200 workers when the expansion is complete.

American Textile Company has completed a successful transition among its top executives, effective immediately. Company President and COO Lance Ruttenberg assumed the CEO role at the family-owned company, adding long term strategy and planning to his existing leadership responsibilities. Company Chairman and former CEO Jack Ouellette will remain as chairman. This successful transition of leadership is the result of a long-term succession plan orchestrated by Ouellette and the firm's Board of Directors, in which Lance's brother Blake shares key leadership responsibilities as executive vice president of sales, marketing, and product development.
