The Board of Trustees of The American College of Financial Services named Robert R. Johnson, Ph.D., CFA, CAIA, as president and chief executive officer beginning October 1, 2014. Dr. Johnson's extensive scholarship, experience in investment management, and results in building global awareness for financial services education make him uniquely qualified to lead the country's large accredited, non-profit educator dedicated to the financial services profession. He currently serves as Professor of Finance in Creighton University's Heider College of Business and on the board of RS Investment Management. Michael C. Davidson, MSM, CLU(R), CAP(R), will continue to serve in his current role as acting president of The College through the end of September.

The American College of Financial Services announced that the MetLife Premier Client Group has selected the Financial Services Certified Professional(R) (FSCP(R)) designation to enhance the skills and product knowledge of the company's financial services representatives. The FSCP(R) is a rigorous skills training program designed to help advisors understand and meet client needs in a comprehensive manner. The FSCP(R) program combines live and web-based classes with self-paced training modules to help financial services representatives understand the planning process, available product solutions, governmental benefits, and ethical approaches in serving clients. In addition, the program offers specialized material on such topics as social media use, healthcare reform, financial services for women, and more.
