SES Government Solutions, Inc. Key Developments

SES Government Solutions Wins BBG Managed Services Contract

SES S.A. announced that SES Government Solutions was awarded a managed services contract to support the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). The service will support the Broadcasting Board of Governors in broadcasting US Government civilian content across the world via SES satellites. The single Firm-Fixed-Price Task Order will service some of the existing BBGs satellite capacity requirements. SES GS will provide high quality satellite solutions and possesses the agility to reach BBGs distribution hubs, news bureaus, and international audiences via satellite and terrestrial connectivity. The contract for these SES GS managed services includes a one-year base period, with four one-year option periods for a total value of approximately USD 15 million over the period of performance. Under this new agreement, the BBG has employed a new model for purchasing COMSAT as a managed service, which effectively obviates having several disparate contracts for each part of their broadcasting infrastructure. The agreement was executed using the US Governments Custom COMSAT Solutions (CS2) contract vehicle, allowing federal agencies to build large, complex, custom end-to-end satellite solution.

SES Government Solutions Wins Contract to Provide High Performance Communication Network to the US Government

SES S. A announced on August 29, 2016 that its wholly owned subsidiary SES Government Solutions (SES GS) has won a contract to provide an O3b Networks high throughput, low latency satellite communications solution to a US Department of Defence end-user. This O3b-enabled solution includes a satellite beam operating at less than 200 milliseconds per roundtrip and will consist of a full duplex, symmetric 155 Mbps link, gateway access, a transportable 2.4m AvL terminal, terrestrial backhaul, installation services and 24/7/365 operations and maintenance activities. This contract also enables the US Government to order additional O3b services to meet surge requirements.

SES Government Solutions Secures Contract for Thule Tracking Station Digital Signal 3 Service

SES Government Solutions has been awarded the Thule Tracking Station Digital Signal 3 (DS3) Service contract to continue to provide the U.S. Government with critical communications capabilities. The service supports a global network that enables national-level missile warning, space surveillance, space control, and satellite command and control. The service consists of a one-year base period, with four one-year option periods for a total contract value of over USD 10 million. The solution connects key sensors to operations centers for missile defense missions and serves Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The contract provides Air Force Space Command with dedicated communications between Thule Air Base in Greenland and Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The solution includes commercial satellite bandwidth, contractor-provided hub equipment, teleport service and antennas. Thule’s arctic environment, unpredictable weather patterns, and near-horizon location provide unique technical and logistical challenges. SES GS continues to provide a robust communications solution to overcome these challenging conditions.
