Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management announced that it has hired four Regional Vice Presidents to support the growth and coverage of its US exchange-traded products (ETP) platform on the East Coast. The team reports to Mick McLaughlin, Head of Passive Distribution in the Americas. Theresa Brennan has joined as an ETF Regional Vice President, covering the Northeast. Based in Boston, Brennan has nearly 20 years of industry experience and was most recently a business development executive at NT Flexshares. Steve Darby has joined as an ETF Regional Vice President, covering the greater New York area. Darby is based in New York and brings over 15 years of experience. Most recently, he was a business development manager for the ETF business at Russell Investments. Gavin McIntire has joined as an ETF Regional Vice President, covering the Mid-Atlantic. Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) announced that Dodd Kittsley will join the firm as a Managing Director and Head of Exchange Traded Product (ETP) Strategy in the Americas. Based in New York, Kittsley will report to Fiona Bassett, Head of the Passive business in the Americas and Mick McLaughlin, Head of Passive Distribution in the Americas. In this newly created position, Kittsley will be responsible for DeAWM's ETP research in the Americas. He will also be responsible for generating new national account business and providing sophisticated, innovative solutions for both institutional and retail clients.
NSW Treasurer Prepares For First Round Of Bidding For Newcastle Port

The Treasurer of NSW is preparing to receive first-round bids on January 31, 2014. Citigroup is reportedly working with Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. (SEHK:1038) in its bid to buy Newcastle Port Corporation, reported Australian Financial Review. The report added that Citi has been advising Cheung Kong Infrastructure on its offer, joining UBS, Macquarie Capital and RBC Capital Markets with mandates. Credit Suisse is acting as financial advisor for ATEC Rail Group Limited, added the report. Cheung Kong Infrastructure is expected to lead international interest in the port, along with rivals GIC Pte. Ltd., Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (NYSE:BIP), Global Infrastructure Partners and Adani Enterprises Limited (BSE:512599). The report says that among the local funds, RREEF America L.L.C., Hastings Funds Management Limited, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (Europe) Limited, Access Capital Advisers Pty Limited and AMP Capital Investors Limited are believed to be weighing offers and IFM Investors and QIC Limited also have form at showing up to these auctions. The Treasurer and adviser Morgan Stanley are expected to short-list four or five bidders.
