Perk Perkins, CEO of The Orvis Company Inc. announced the selection of William R. McLaughlin as the retailer's new president, to succeed Raymond G. McCready who will retire later this year. A former PepsiCo executive and CEO of Select Comfort Corporation of Minneapolis, McLaughlin will assume the post July 27.
Orvis to Permanently Close its Outdoor Store at the Dayton Mall

Orvis announced that it will permanently close its outdoor store at the Dayton Mall on April 24, 2015. The store has operated for more than eight years and is the only Orvis location in the Dayton area. Its closing represents what may be the latest casualty in an increasingly competitive outdoor-store market in the southwest and west-central Ohio. The closing will affect seven employees. Full-time employees with experience will receive a severance.
