Dong Energy Signs Turbine Supply Contract with MHI Vestas Offshore for German Wind Farm

Dong Energy has signed a conditional contract with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind for the delivery of V164-8.0 MW turbines for the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 project in Germany. Located in the North Sea around 57km away from the north-west coast, the completed project is expected to meet the power requirements of nearly 460,000 German households. The project is expected to start generating power by the end of the year 2015. It is located next to the 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm, which will be commissioned later in the year.

DONG Energy AS Reports Earnings Results for the First Half Ended June 2015; Revises Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

DONG Energy AS reported earnings results for the first half ended June 2015. For the period, the company reported EBITDA of DKK 10.4 billion compared with DKK 9.8 billion a year ago. This increase was due to a positive development in the underlying business as well as compensations, partly offset by divestment gains in 2014. Net profit was DKK 2.8 billion, up DKK 1.3 billion on first half of 2014. Cash flows from operating activities were DKK 6.5 billion, on a par with first half of 2014. Interest-bearing net debt increased by DKK 3.8 billion from the end of 2014 to DKK 7.8 billion at the end of June 2015.
The outlook for business performance EBITDA for 2015 is adjusted upwards with DKK 1.5 billion to DKK 17.0 billion-19.0 billion relative to the announcement in the 2014 annual report on DKK 15.5 billion -17.5 billion. The upward adjustment reflects the strong earnings, including compensations, in first half 2015.
