Vancouver Airport Authority announced the upcoming arrival of Aeromexico to Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The new daily non-stop service between YVR and Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City begins December 9, 2015. The new service will add 160 jobs to the B.C. economy and $9.9 million in Gross Domestic Product, $3.4 million in taxes and $2.9 million in wages to the province. It will also provide opportunities for B.C. businesses to reach new customers, suppliers and investors throughout Mexico and Latin America. Aeromexico will operate a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with seat capacity for 124 passengers including 12 in Premier Business. Aeromexico offers connectivity to 45 destinations within Mexico and 16 destinations in Latin America. Flight AM696 leaves MEX daily at 6:00 p.m. and arrives at YVR at 10:05 p.m. the same day. Flight AM697 leaves YVR at 11:20 p.m. and arrives at MEX at 7:00 a.m. the following day. The arrival time at YVR allows for convenient connections onward to Asian markets. Tickets for the new Aeromexico service are already on sale.
Vancouver International Airport Officially Opens Newly Expanded Domestic Terminal

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) announced the opening of the expanded Domestic Terminal, the A-B Connector. Featuring new gate capacity, an expedited baggage system, seismic upgrades and a wide range of new dining and shopping options, the A-B Connector will keep YVR connected to destinations across Canada. The new $213 million expansion is the first major infrastructure project completed as part of YVR's 10-year gateway strategy announced in 2012 to keep YVR competitive and an economic generator for B.C. The upgrades and expansion were made to the original areas of YVR's 1968 terminal. The A-B Connector provides improved passenger navigation and flow, increased gate capacity and holdroom space, new security and safety enhancements and seismic upgrades to ensure a more comfortable and efficient experience. In addition, an expedited baggage system connects bags between international and domestic flights more quickly.
