Emory Healthcare and Alliance Imaging Open New Diagnostic Center in McDonough
Aug 19 13
Emory Healthcare and Alliance Imaging are expanding a partnership developed more than seven years ago with the opening of a new diagnostic imaging center in McDonough, Georgia. The center provides imaging services closer to home for patients, while replicating Emory Healthcare's excellence in quality and services. The Emory Imaging Center at McDonough, located at 249 Jonesboro Road, offers MRI, CT and diagnostic X-ray. Under the partnership, Emory and Alliance Imaging will share the responsibilities of operating the new center. Emory Healthcare provides physician, technical and clinical support for the center, as well as marketing needs. Alliance Imaging provides the market and operational analysis and guidance, management services--including: day-to-day operations leadership, competitive and process improvement support, patient/physician satisfaction--and radiology equipment for the center. Emory and Alliance Imaging opened their first outpatient imaging center October 2012 in Buford, Georgia. The services are similar to those in McDonough. Both outlying centers fall under the radiology operations at Emory University Hospital Midtown. Both Emory and Alliance Imaging helped design the new 4,000 square foot center, which was built in an existing building. The project cost the two entities approximately $1.4 million for construction and equipment purchases.
