Ericsson Collaborates with Xl Axiata to Deploy LTE and 3G/WCDMA Indoor Small Cell Solution
Jul 28 16
Ericsson has collaborated with XL Axiata to deploy an LTE and 3G/WCDMA indoor small cell solution based on the Ericsson Radio Dot System and Ericsson Micro Remote Radio Unit (mRRU). The solution is designed to integrate with XL Axiata's LTE and 3G/WCDMA network and will enable the operator to expand indoor app coverage and network capacity. This will enable XL Axiata to offer its subscribers high-quality voice and data experiences in more in-building locations. Initial rollout will take place at Jakarta International Airport and is supposedly the first commercial implementation of its kind in Indonesia. Ericsson will also provide turnkey project management, design, implementation and tuning services, as part of the agreement.
Ericsson Partners with Massachusetts Institute of Technology for Autonomous Car Solution
Apr 1 16
Ericsson has entered an agreement with Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) System Design and Management (SDM) programme to develop solutions for its Autonomous Driving - Predictive Mobility project. Ericsson's Autonomous Driving project is claimed to take an innovative software approach in order to combine data and analytics. This helps the company to better understand driver profiles, context and network awareness in support of app delivery to the autonomous car, including intelligent media streaming. The MIT SDM team will work in collaboration with Ericsson to design an 'identity' module. This module will help capture a driver's identity to better identify his preferences and behaviour.
Nokia, Ericsson and Intel Corporation Works Together on Next-Generation Wireless Connectivity for Internet of Things Market Segment
Sep 11 15
Nokia, Ericsson and Intel Corporation announced their support for Narrow-Band Long-Term Evolution (NB-LTE) technology as the ideal wireless connectivity solution for the growing Internet of Things (IoT) market segment. NB-LTE is an optimized variant of the widely deployed 4G LTE technology, and is well-suited for the IoT market segment because of its low implementation cost, ease of use and power efficiency. Nokia plans to work closely with Ericsson and Intel to develop and bring to market the products needed for the commercialization of NB-LTE timed with market demand. Intel intends to support commercial roll-out of the technology with a roadmap for NB-LTE chipsets and product upgrades beginning in 2016 that will enable slim form factors. The products will add to Intel's growing LTE portfolio. Nokia and Ericsson will provide the required network upgrades to support an extension of existing LTE networks with NB-LTE optimized for low power Machine-to-Machine communication.
