TUV SUD AG Signs Consultancy Contract with Stadtwerke Japan
Mar 31 15
TÜV SÜD will advise Stadtwerke Japan. The two parties signed a contract to this effect in Tokyo in March 2015. Limited to an initial term of one year, the consultancy services will cover topics such as new business models, distributed energy supply and assessment of technology options. The core business of the new company, Stadtwerke Japan, will be development of local administration of municipal infrastructures, at first focusing on the area of energy supply. Further typical infrastructures for public services, such as water supply and sanitation, waste disposal and local heating supply, are planned to follow. While the rationale behind the establishment of Stadtwerke Japan by West Holdings is the upcoming liberalisation of Japan’s energy market, the objective pursued by the new company is a broader one.

Cypark Resources Berhad Partners TÜV SÜD to Test Dump Site-Turned Renewable Energy Park
Dec 18 13
Cypark Resources Berhad has engaged TÜV SÜD as part of its plan to transform former Pajam dumpsite into Malaysia’s first and biggest renewable energy park. With TÜV SÜD’s testing support, the site which previously had minimal economic, real estate and social value, is now certified as a performance-ready solar park with the ability to power over 17,000 households annually. The MYR 150 million park includes a 13MW lightweight, non-permanent and non-invasive solar park. In 21 years, the solar park will generate MYR 500 million worth of electricity, which is a three-time turnover. This amount of electricity is equivalent to electricity generated by 9,300 tonnes of coal, while potentially reducing 14,335 tonnes of carbon dioxide and 684 tonnes of methane gas emissions a year.
