Greater Louisville Inc. has hired a vice president of public policy. Sarah Davasher-Wisdom will join the company staff effective July 21, 2014. Davasher-Wisdom will lead company's advocacy, public affairs, and government relations. She will also oversee its public policy issue committees as well as represent company on regional policy committees, task forces and coalitions, according to a news release from the company. Currently, Davasher-Wisdom is the government relations manager for the Kentucky district of the Tennessee Valley Authority. In that role, she works with members of the Kentucky General Assembly and other public officials in the state on behalf of the TVA. Prior to that, she was strategic communications officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville.

Greater Louisville Inc. has named Kent Oyler as president and CEO, effective June 1, 2014. Oyler most recently served as managing partner of OPM Services Inc. He has founded or co-founded more than 18 other businesses, including broadband service provider High Speed Access Corp. Oyler replaces Craig Richard, who resigned as GLI president and CEO in mid-February amid controversy about the organization's finances. Oyler will lead the rollout of GLI's strategic priorities, which are centered on serving the interests of its members and the regional business community. Those priorities include: Retaining and growing existing businesses; supporting the entrepreneurial and startup community; increasing the region's human capital, educational attainment levels and work-force readiness; and driving advocacy efforts to create a more business-friendly environment.
Greater Louisville Inc. Announces Executive Changes

Following president and CEO Craig Richard's resignation from Greater Louisville Inc., board leaders there moved quickly to name GLI veteran Eileen Pickett as acting CEO. Pickett will lead the local chamber and economic development organization until a longer-term executive can be found to replace Richard, who had served in the roles for about 13 months. Richard's departure comes after GLI's reports of financial losses, fund-raising struggles and staff cuts. She was a 14-year veteran of GLI before resigning at the end of August to start a consulting practice focused on economic and community development. Pickett has been working under contract with GLI for several months.
