Standard Insurance Company Announces New Dental Product

A new dental insurance product that helps employers provide simple and cost-effective benefits is now available from Standard Insurance Company. Hybrid Dental Care is a comprehensive solution for employers looking to offer employees high-quality dental coverage at rates that may be as much as 55% less than The Standard’s traditional plans. In addition to lower rates, Hybrid Dental Care can be paired with the tax advantages of an FSA or HSA, resulting in even greater savings for employees. The plan also offers a $3,000 annual maximum benefit — twice the typical amount of traditional dental plans— providing helpful coverage for employees who need more than a routine cleaning or checkup. Hybrid Dental Care is available for groups with 10 or more employees and allows employers to offer either contributory or noncontributory plans. In addition, the plans allow employees access to Ameritas’ nationwide dental provider network -with more than 416,000 access points for quality dental care at discounted fees. This policy has exclusions, limitations, reduction of benefits, and terms under which the policy may be continued in force or terminated.

Standard Insurance Company Names Maggie Cormier as Second Vice President and Associate Actuary in Individual Disability Insurance

Standard Insurance Company has promoted Maggie Cormier to second vice president and associate actuary for Individual Disability Insurance. In her new role, Cormier will oversee all IDI actuarial functions including financial reporting, product development and pricing. Cormier brings 18 years of actuarial experience to her role. Cormier joined The Standard in 2014 as senior director and assistant actuary and was responsible for leading the individual disability pricing team and managing IDI's relationship with its reinsurer. Previously, Cormier led the individual disability pricing team for Guardian Life. She also worked at Unum in group disability pricing and began her actuarial career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont.
