The Turnbull government reportedly seeks privatization of nbn co limited. The Turnbull government is in discussions with major telco companies about selling off large chunks of the government owned National Broadband Network, including its huge hybrid fibre cable, copper and fixed wireless networks. The talks are at an early stage and the government is not yet committed to a sale. If the sale goes ahead it will not take place until after the next election, now expected in October 2016. NBN announced earnings results for the first quarter ended September 2015. Capital expenditure during the quarter was AUD 1.06 billion. Turnover for the period came in at AUD 73 million, including AUD 71 million in telecommunications revenue. Revenue in the same quarter a year earlier stood at AUD 29 million. It lost AUD 595 million in its fiscal first quarter compared with AUD 436 million in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA loss was AUD 336 million.
