GlaxoSmithKline announced the creation of a new consortium formed in partnership with researchers from University of Oxford, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois in Lausanne, and the Bernhard-Nocht Institute which is co-financed by the European Commission. The aim of the consortium is to boost research on a novel Ebola vaccine developed by GSK and the US National Institutes of Health. The consortium is supported by EUR 15.1 million (USD 18.8 million) granted from the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 programme aimed at helping research targeting treatments and vaccines for Ebola.
VolitionRx Limited Enters Agreement with University of Oxford to Initiate Endometriosis Study

VolitionRx Limited announced that it has entered an agreement with the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, to initiate a clinical study that will assess VolitionRx's proprietary Nucleosomics platform technology for the diagnosis of endometriosis through a simple blood test. Under the agreement, The University of Oxford will provide VolitionRx with serum and plasma samples from approximately 350 patients with endometriosis and 150 control patients over a period of two years. The samples are donated by participating women through the bio-specimen repository of the Oxford Endometriosis CaRe Centre.
