AstraZeneca Partners with Singaporean Organizations for Research into Heart Failure
Mar 11 15
AstraZeneca has entered into an alliance with Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research, National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS), and the National University of Singapore. The company and its partners will focus on research into heart failure therapies. The collaboration, which is anticipated to span two years, is therefore aimed at progressing understanding of pathophysiology of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). According to the firm, the alliance will make use of clinical, cardiac imaging, and blood data that were collected via the Singapore Heart Failure Outcomes and Phenotypes study from patients with heart failure. The data will be used for differentiating between subsets of heart failure patients and identifying the molecular pathway leading to HFpEF prior to establishing biomarkers, and subsequently potential novel therapies.
