ICAEW Appoints Board Members

ICAEW announced that non-chartered accountants have been appointed to the ICAEW's board for the first time. The appointment of Jill May, an investment banker with 13 years in M&A at SG Warburg & Co, and comms specialist Michael Stewart, follows a review of the institute's board composition. Stewart is president and CEO of Edelman's Europe and CIS region and also a member of Edelman's global executive committee.
ICAEW Appoints Gavin Pearson as Chair of Forensic Accounting and Expert Witness Special Interest Group

Gavin Pearson, a partner at forensic accounting firm HSNO, has been appointed as the new chair of the ICAEW's forensic accounting and expert witness special interest group. Pearson, formerly vice-chair of the group from 2011 until now, is an experienced forensic accountant and expert witness whose work includes contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, warranty disputes and fraud investigations. He became an HSNO partner in 2014, having previously been a partner at RSM Tenon and Baker Tilly. The group is responsible for the institute's thought leadership in forensic accounting and supports new members and established practitioners.

Tyrone Courtman, head of the firm's business restructuring recovery and insolvency practice, said the role will boost PKF Cooper Parry's credibility as a leader in restructuring and insolvency practices in the Midlands.
