Central Washington University Appoints Antonio Sanchez as Assistant Director of Government Relations

Central Washington University has appointed Antonio Sanchez as Assistant Director of Government Relations. Sanchez, who holds a PhD in anthropology, joins CWU's Public Affairs department, where he will focus on state government relations. Sanchez is a former staff director for the House Higher Education Committee and instructor at the University of Washington. Sanchez earned a doctorate in medical anthropology from the University of Washington and has more than 20 years of legislative background. He served as a senior legislative analyst with the Washington Legislature.

William O. Douglas Honors College Names Anne Cubilie as Director

Anne Cubilie has been named the new director of Central Washington University's William O. Douglas Honors College (DHC). CWU Associate Provost Tracy Pellett announced the hiring of Cubilie, who was born and raised in Seattle, with roots in Ellensburg dating back to her maternal grandfather. Cubilie is currently a First Program Officer for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Capacity Development Office. She previously served as a policy officer and unit head in the Policy Development and Studies Branch of the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
