Western & Southern Financial Group, Inc. Key Developments

Western & Southern Financial Group Announce Management Changes

Western & Southern Financial Group is shifting around its management team to fill the holes left by the exit of two C-suite executives. Robert Walker will retire March 31, 2016 as CFO and senior vice president. Steve Kreider will vacate the chief investment officer role he has held for less than two years but will remain with the company as a consultant. They are two of Western & Southern's seven senior vice presidents. Walker is retiring after 18 years with the insurance giant, which has $42 billion in assets. Kreider, who spent eight seasons as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, has been traveling back and fourth to Philadelphia, where his family lives. Western & Southern is filling those positions with several moves effective April 1, 2016. One of its other senior vice presidents, Jon Niemeyer, will become chief administrative officer in addition to keeping his present general counsel position. In that newly created position, Niemeyer will oversee newly promoted CFO Bradley Hunkler. Niemeyer will also be in charge of the company's actuarial, controller, risk management, tax and treasury departments. The company will promote Roger Lanham and Brendan White to co-chief investment officers, replacing Kreider's role. They'll both be senior vice presidents in their expanded roles at the company's Fort Washington Investment Advisors unit. Both have decades of experience with Fort Washington and will work closely with that firm's CEO, Maribeth Rahe.
