GE Announces Clarke Energy as Diesel Engine Distributor for Australia, Nigeria and India
Apr 22 15
Seeking to ensure regional customer sales and services excellence for its growing diesel engine technology portfolio, GE's Distributed Power business has signed an agreement with Clarke Energy to serve as GE's first authorized distributor for diesel sales and services with responsibility for stationary power generation in Australia, Nigeria and India. The agreement comes as GE continues to rapidly expand its reciprocating engines technology offerings. In 2014, GE's Distributed Power business introduced its new 2.6-megawatt (MW) 616 diesel engine and also integrated GE Transportation's proven 228 and 250 diesel engine product lines for stationary power generation into its growing diesel engine portfolio.
Mace Group, Ltd. Selects Clarke Energy to Supply GE's Jenbacher J420 Gas Engines
Dec 1 14
Mace Group Ltd. has selected Clarke Energy to supply two Jenbacher J420 natural gas-fueled engines from Distributed Power business of General Electric Company, or GE. The engines will provide environmentally friendlier, more sustainable power and heat for the first phase of the GBP 380 million Nova, Victoria, redevelopment project, an area of London previously known as Victoria Circle. Land Securities are transforming the area by providing new high-quality apartments, restaurants and modern offices. The first phase of the project, overseen by Mace, will include three new buildings and landscaped public space, and in keeping with the project's environmental sustainability goals, GE's Jenbacher units will run a combined heat and power (CHP) configuration to generate 2.96 megawatts (MW) for the area-enough electricity to power more than 5,700 standard UK homes.
Clarke Energy Supplies GE's 616 Diesel Engines to Flour Mills of Nigeria
Sep 12 14
GE's distributed power business has announced that Clarke Energy, is supplying GE's new 616 diesel engines to Flour Mills of Nigeria plc. Two of the units will be used at the Kano facility in northern Nigeria, where natural gas access is limited and older, less-efficient diesel units have been used in order to maintain power for production. The new GE engines will deliver 5 MW of base load electrical power, with an expected capital payback in less than 12 months on diesel fuel cost savings alone. The other three GE engines will be at Flour Mills' facility in Apapa, Lagos, and the same city in which Clarke Energy opened its first sub-Saharan Africa site nearly a decade ago. This site already features 11 of GE's J620 gas engines, and the diesel units will provide backup power generation capacity in the event of maintenance on the site's existing power generation equipment or in the event of a gas supply failure.
