Socialtext Broadens Integration Capabilities with Microsoft SharePoint

Socialtext, Inc. announced its enhanced integration feature Microsoft SharePoint to provide customers easy access to Microsoft documents. With SharePoint's streamline integration, Socialtext enables the ability to upload, view, and edit Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word files within a browser window through the collaboration platform. This advanced integration offers customers access to a complete documents library that syncs with the Socialtext platform, allowing for storage of attachments inside SharePoint instead of Socialtext. Shared documents not only can be stored, but also referenced and are easily searchable with its simple search feature. In addition, bulk documents can be uploaded, dragged and dropped to the desired location along with PowerPoint, browser enabled Excel, Word documents that are easy to upload through the integration feature for optimum enterprise collaboration. SharePoint provides customers with three simple integration capabilities. Once a logged-in user uploads a file to a page, Socialtext keeps a record of the attachment but the actual file is stored inside SharePoint. Updates and changes to the file can be made in Socialtext or a new version can be uploaded directly to SharePoint.

Socialtext announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors. Robert Schilling, Mike Lewis and Tom Tardio join the Socialtext Board immediately, bringing independently successful business track records and deep expertise in three focal areas designed to propel the company's growth agenda in 2013. Mr. Schilling, currently CEO of Space-Time Insight, brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience from large ERP companies, including SAP, Oracle Corporation and Siebel Systems. Mr. Schilling joined Space-Time Insight from SAP North America, where he was SVP and general manager of the West region and responsible for all utilities industry accounts in North America. Mr. Lewis, currently chief marketing officer at Peoplefluent, is a published social marketing expert and proven high-growth technology executive. With 20 years of experience in dynamic software industry segments and with a strong track record in strategic program development, social marketing, demand generation, sales enablement and brand awareness, Mr. Lewis brings exceptionally relevant experience to Socialtext's market growth and positioning initiatives. Mr. Tardio, currently chief executive officer for Rogers & Cowan a post he has held for most of the 23 years he has been with the agency, has one of the strongest reputations in the converging fields of technology, entertainment and consumer marketing. Socialtext Partners With Winvale for Expanded Distribution Through GSA Schedule

Socialtext announced its distribution partnership with Winvale. After much success implementing the Socialtext software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform with government agencies, it will now be available through with Winvale's General Services Administration (GSA) schedule. By partnering with Winvale, Socialtext will be available to customers in the public sector through the GSA schedule procurement process. Winvale channel partners can leverage the contract to sell products to government customers even if they do not hold a GSA contract of their own. This agreement opens up additional markets for the company while also providing Socialtext with the opportunity to fulfill additional government orders.
