Scale Computing Expands Operations in Canada; Appoints Kevin Greenwood as Senior Director of Global Channel Sales
Nov 10 15
Scale Computing announced it has significantly expanded its operations in Canada to support increasing demand for its HC3 solutions from partners and customers. Scale Computing has an enthusiastic following among small-to-midsized users because of its simple, scalable, and affordable approach to hyperconvergence in varying IT infrastructures. With no virtualization software to license and no external storage to buy, the HC3 platform reduces out-of-pocket costs while providing reliable performance and capacity to keep business applications running. From this new hub in Toronto, including new sales and support staff, Scale Computing can nurture its growing channel relationships throughout the country.
Scale Computing has added Kevin Greenwood, Senior Director of Global Channel Sales and Christopher Angell as solutions engineer to deliver effective technical and product leadership for partners and prospective customers. Angell is a longtime IT consultant who was most recently group IT manager for Sudbury-based TESC Management, a large construction services company for global mining, energy, oil and gas industry clients. In this position for TESC Management's five separate 'companies within a company,' Angell gained firsthand knowledge of the HC3 platform when he installed a complete back-end infrastructure based on Scale Computing. Greenwood and Angell join a team that already includes Country Manager Scott Mann, who for nearly a decade has led efforts in Canada around business development and client management in the software, data security, virtualization, and cloud computing segments.
Sevier County Bank Selects Scale Computing to Power Servers, Storage, Virtualization and Data Management for its Second Century
Oct 14 15
Scale Computing announced that Sevier County Bank (SCB), has selected Scale's HC3 Virtualization Platform in order to upgrade its information systems and support the bank's strategic technology plans as it serves the community in its next hundred years. SCB implemented an HC2000 cluster at their primary site, which alone provides high availability for any VMs created on the system. The bank also installed an HC1000 cluster at its disaster recovery (DR) branch, and uses HC3's replication to ensure compliance in the highly regulated banking industry. The process for replicating and cloning VMs is easy enough that SCB can also test their DR plan with ease.
Scale Computing Promotes Phil White to Chief Technology Officer
Sep 9 15
Scale Computing announced the promotion of Phil White to Chief Technology Officer, where he will be responsible for overseeing the underlying innovation behind Scale's products as the company grows its vision and expands its customer base. White moves to CTO in place of Jason Collier, whose new responsibilities within the company include strategy and the evangelization of hyperconvergence in the midmarket and SMB spaces. A key contributor to Scale Computing's success from its founding, White previously served as Chief Architect for the company, conceiving and designing many of Scale's technologies that bundle storage, servers and virtualization software into an all-in-one appliance to reduce organizations' operational complexity. Prior to joining Scale Computing, White was the co-founder and CTO of several startup technology businesses. At Corvigo, he was closely involved in the design and implementation of the MailGate enterprise email filtering appliance.
