Gazprom Announces Sales and Purchase Contract for Gas from Karachaganakskoye Gas and Condensate Field Extended Till 2038

The Gazprom Management Committee and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) signed an agreement between KazRosGas and KPO in Astana. The document extends till 2038 the long-term sales and purchase contract for nearly 9 billion cubic meters of gas annually from the Karachaganakskoye gas and condensate field. The agreement guarantees an additional export of 120 to 135 billion cubic meters of gas to the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and also provides long-term supplies to the domestic market of Kazakhstan, in particular by means of swap transactions. The Karachaganakskoye gas and condensate field is located in the Aksai District of the Uralsk Region in the Republic of Kazakhstan at a distance of 130 kilometers from the Orenburg GPP.

Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. has announced two senior management appointments. Renato Maroli takes over from Damiano Ratti as the new KPO General Director, and Andrew Wiper steps in as the new Operations Director and Deputy General Director. Maroli has over 22 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including domestic and international assignments such as Libya and Egypt. In his most recent assignment he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Enimed, Eni's sister company that operates onshore and offshore assets in Sicily, Italy. Andrew Wiper has considerable experience in executive roles and has a solid technical and managerial background combined with international experience gained in various companies such as in BG Group, Shell and Schlumberger.
