Virgin Atlantic and Flybe Extend Codeshare Agreement to Include London Heathrow

Virgin Atlantic and Flybe have extended their codeshare agreement to include London Heathrow. New Flybe flights from Aberdeen and Edinburgh will connect customers onto Virgin Atlantic flights to the US, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The new flights are now on sale at Virgin Atlantic website for travel from 26th March. Scottish travellers can now book flights to international destinations including Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Dubai - closer cooperation between Virgin Atlantic and Europe's leading regional airline, Flybe. From January 11, 2017 customers will be able to book tickets to travel from Edinburgh and Aberdeen with Flybe, and connect onto Virgin Atlantic flights at London Heathrow. The new Flybe codeshare flights to London Heathrow will operate from 26th March- offering four services per day from Edinburgh Airport, and up to three services per day from Aberdeen Airport. The agreement will mean customers can seamlessly connect between Flybe and Virgin Atlantic with a single check in and bag drop. It will also open up a number of new destinations for Scottish travellers, and help boost inbound tourism and investment.

Virgin Holidays Managing Director, Mark Anderson, has been promoted to lead customer organization at Virgin Atlantic. Joe will take over from Mark Anderson, who has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Customer at Virgin Atlantic. Marks's new role at the airline will focus on customer service, memorable experiences and fun that made Virgin Holidays one of the large and most respected long-haul tour operators in the UK. Mark will be responsible for leading all customer facing teams for Virgin Atlantic.
Delta Air Lines, Virgin Atlantic and Jet Airways Expand Cooperation with India-United States Codeshare Via London Heathrow

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic announced expanded cooperation with Jet Airways to provide convenient codeshare connections for customers between key destinations across North America and India via London Heathrow. Effective November 2, 2016Jet Airways customers flying between India and North America will be able to connect through London Heathrow on to nine U.S. destinations operated by Delta. These destinations include: Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle. In turn, Delta and Virgin Atlantic customers flying between North America and India will be able to connect with Delta codeshare onto Jet Airways' flights to Mumbai and Delhi via London Heathrow and onward to 20 destinations within India. The new Delta codeshare destinations include Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Pune, Trivandrum and Vadodara. The new routes complement Delta and Jet Airways destinations available through existing codeshare agreements via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. In 2017 and subject to Government Approvals, Virgin Atlantic will expand their existing codeshare with Jet Airways placing its marketing code on Virgin Atlantic operated flights from London Heathrow to 10 cities across North America including Miami, Newark, San Francisco and Washington. Virgin Atlantic already operates a successful codeshare with Jet Airways on flights between five Indian cities and London Heathrow via Delhi. This expanded codeshare is another milestone for the Delta and Virgin Atlantic joint venture - offering even greater network opportunities for North American customers and improving connections to and from India.
