FCC Signs Lima Metro Construction Contract

FCC has signed the Lima Metro construction contract in Lima. The contract for the construction of Line 2 of the Lima Metro system was awarded on March 28, 2014 to a consortium led by ACS and FCC and also including Peruvian builder Cosapi. The contract covers the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of Line 2 of the Lima Metro and a branch of Line 4 that will reach the airport, and the price tag is EUR 3,900 million. The construction stage is scheduled to last for five years, after which the thirty-year operation stage will begin.

FCC Construccion, S.A. announced earnings results for the third quarter of 2013. For the nine months, the company reported net turnover of EUR 4,965.2 million against EUR 5,507.2 million a year ago. Gross operating profit (EBITDA) was EUR 504.4 million against EUR 775 million a year ago. Loss attributable to the controlling company was EUR 674.9 million against profit attributable to the controlling company of EUR 40.1 million a year ago. The company posts a net loss period of the year due to adjustment costs and ALPINE.
