Petronas, Petrovietnam Extend PM3 CAA Production Sharing Contract with Four Partners

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Vietnam Oiland Gas Group (PETROVIETNAM) have extended the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with four partners for the PM3 Commercial Arrangement Area (CAA) until 2027. The partners are Talisman Malaysia Ltd, Talisman Malaysia (PM3) Ltd. (Talisman), Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) and PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Ltd. (PVEP). Under the terms of the PSC, which was signed on April 6, 2016, Talisman will continue to operate Block PM3 CAA with equity interest of 35% while PVEP will own 30%, with the remaining 35% held by PCSB. The 10-year contract extension would maintain the production from five producing fields namely the Bunga Orkid, Bunga Kekwa, Bunga Raya, Bunga Tulip and Bunga Saroja fields. Other activities include further development of discovered fields within the Malaysia-Vietnam offshore Commercial Arrangement Area. The partners are committed to conducting near field exploration, brownfield development and studies on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) amounting to $500 million of additional minimum work commitment. The PM3 CAA project involves offshore fields located throughout a 2008 sq. km. area in the overlapping zone between Malaysia and Vietnam.

Petronas Carigali Wins Epic Contract to Technip for Malaysian Offshore Project

Petronas Carigali has awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning contract to Technip for the D18 project in offshore East Malaysia. As part of the project, Technip will procure and install two 8in water injection flexible pipes totaling 9.5 km. The pipes will connect three fixed jacket platforms, which form the existing D18 infrastructure offshore Sarawak, Malaysia, at depths of 36 m. The latest contract is part of the five-year framework agreement signed with Petronas in November 2014. The contract will be carried out by Technip's flexible pipe manufacturing plant located in Johor, Malaysia, Asiaflex Products. Technip's operating centre located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will extend its support for the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2015. The pipes will be manufactured at Asiaflex Products and Technip's subsea construction vessel Deep Orient will be mobilized for installation during the second semester.

Seven Companies Sign Joint Venture Agreements on Oil and Gas Operations and Services with Pangkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn Bhd

Seven companies have signed joint venture agreements on oil and gas (o&g) operations and services with Pangkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn Bhd, which operates the Kemaman Supply Base (KSB). The companies were Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, Exxonmobil Exploration and Productions Malaysia Inc, Talisman Malaysia Limited, Hess Exploration and Production, Lundin Malaysia BV, Petrofac (Malaysia) Limited, and Petrofac Energy Development Sdn Bhd. Besides the seven companies, 260 small companies were also involved oil and gas activities at KSB, providing over 15,000 jobs to locals in Kemaman. In the quest to develop KSB into a premier base in the peninsula, the state government has allocated 280 hectares of land to improve the port, warehouses and storage facilities for industrial equipment. Plans are afoot to build luxury residential properties and shopping complexes to provide conducive environment for the staff of these companies to stay and shop in Terengganu.
