Digi Telecommunication announced earnings results for the second quarter of 2015. Second-quarter service revenue rose 1.3% year-on-year to MYR 1.58 billion, with growth held back by the effects from the implementation of Goods and Services Tax and intense competition. EBITDA slightly declined to MYR 788 million from MYR 795 million in the year-earlier period. Net profit reached MYR 464 million during the quarter, down from MYR 499 million in the second quarter of 2014.

Digi Telecommunications Expands 4G LTE Service to Penang

Digi Telecommunications announced that the company has expanded its 4G LTE service to Penang. In Penang, Digi has a 3G footprint of 99% and LTE population coverage of 66%. The operator plans to soon expand its 4G service coverage to additional areas in Perak, Perlis and Kedah.
