Hispasat And JSAT Reportedly Looking To Buy Asia Broadcast Satellite

Hispasat, S.A. and JSAT Corp. are seeking to buy Asia Broadcast Satellite Limited, Financial Times reported. The Financial Times is reporting that most of the world's larger satellite operators have looked at Asia Broadcast Satellite, including SES, S.A. (BDL:008808732). The Financial Times says that bids were entered last week. Goldman Sachs is handling the process for Permira Advisers Ltd., which owns Asia Broadcast Satellite.

Hispasat Teams with Quantis Subsidiary for Satellite Broadband in North Africa

Hispasat has entered a partnership with Quantis and its Moroccan subsidiary Nortis to provide satellite broadband services in North Africa. Per the agreement, Quantis signed for Ka-band capacity on the upcoming Hispasat 30W-6 satellite, formerly known as Hispasat 1F, until the end of its useful life, estimated at 15 years, at a cost of approximately $137 million. Under construction by SSL, the satellite will provide coverage over North Africa, especially Morocco, after launching in 2017. The service, which Quantis will offer through its own platform, uses Hispasat satellite capacity, which covers the waters of the Maghreb, from the southernmost latitudes of the region to the most central areas of the Mediterranean.

Hispasat, S.A. Reports Earnings Results for the Year 2015

Hispasat, S.A. reported earnings results for the year 2015. For the year, the company reported revenue of EUR 219.6 million, representing an 8.7% increase from the previous business year. EBITDA reached EUR 178.9 million, which translates into a 10.6% increase with respect to 2014. The net result attributed to the company was EUR 62.6 million, more than EUR 17 million in 2014.
