Petrobras Seeks To Sell Ethanol Related Assets

Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras has hired the financial advice of Itau BBA and Citibank to divest its stakes in the ethanol manufacturers Açucar Guarani S.A., Bambuí Bioenergia S.A. and Nova Fronteira Bioenergia S.A. that run nine sugarcane mills with a sizeable capacity for 31,2mil m tons of sugarcane. There are talks with partner Tereos SA to sell 45,97% on Guarani. Turdus Participações S.A. is negotiating the Petrobras stake in Bambui. São Martinho S.A. (BOVESPA:SMTO3) would be keen to the stake in Nova Fronteira.

Tereos Starts Talks With Petrobas To Buy Rest Of Açucar Guarani

Tereos SA has started talks to acquire the 45.9% stake in Açucar Guarani S.A. held by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras (BOVESPA:PETR4)'s ('Petrobras'). Bloomberg News reported that Petrobras had hired Itau BBA to sell the Guarani stake.

Tereos Guarani Reports Production and Earnings Results for the Third Quarter Ended December 31, 2015

Tereos Guarani reported production and earnings results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported sugarcane crushed of 4,563,000 tonnes compared to 4,224,000 tonnes crushed in the same period last year. Sugar production was 328,000 tonnes against 321,000 tonnes produced in the same period last year. Ethanol production was 164,000 cubic metre against 166,000 cubic metre produced in the same period last year. For the quarter, the company reported net revenues of BRL 990 million compared to BRL 656 million reported in the same period last year. EBIT was BRL 137 million against BRL 64 million reported last year. Adjusted EBITDA 296 million against BRL 162 million reported last year. Capital expenditure was BRL 89 million against BRL 98 million reported last year.
