Monde Nissin Corporation Key Developments

Monde Nissin Could Float

Monde Nissin Corporation could opt to float in London or New York and tap into the growing investor enthusiasm for health food businesses.

Quorn Reportedly Receives Takeover Offers

Marlow Foods Limited (Quorn) has received takeover offers. Sources close to the matter said that the owner of Quorn has received takeover interest from a range of parties including Monde Nissin Corporation and Wilmar International Limited (SGX:F34). Sources seeking anonymity said that Quorn, owned by Exponent Private Equity LLP, started an auction in early September 2015 with detailed information being sent to a range of potential bidders. One source stated that the first round bids are due in mid of October 2015. The potential sale in the range of about £500 million pounds could be announced as soon as this week. The news report added that DANONE, S. A., McCain Foods Limited, and Kerry Group plc (ISE:KRZ) are also looking at the business. Other companies that had been named as possible suitors for Quorn include Nomad Foods Limited (LSE:NHL) and The WhiteWave Foods Company (NYSE:WWAV). The news report stated that Exponent and Danone declined to comment while Monde Nissin and Wilmar did not respond to requests for comment and McCain was not immediately available.

Monde Nissin Mulls IPO

Monde Nissin Corporation reportedly is seeking IPO. Monde Nissin is gearing up for its planned initial public offering (IPO) and is looking to do the offering as early as the second quarter of 2016, a banking source privy to the matter said over the weekend. Monde Nissin considered embarking on the IPO as early as this year, but the company thought it would be better to do the share sale in 2016 because they had to review their financials again following their acquisitions in Australia, the source said. "They had to recast their numbers. It may be soon after the first quarter of next year," the source said. The plan to have the IPO in 2016 instead of this year has nothing to do with the prevailing market volatility, the source also said. "It's really reviewing the assets and operations after the acquisition before they do the IPO," the source added.
