Lockheed Martin UK has announced the appointment of a new chief executive who will lead the UK business from next year 2016. Peter Ruddock CB CBE, who is currently the UK's Business Development Director, will assume the leadership of company from January 4, 2016. It follows the decision by Stephen Ball to retire after 15 years with company. Stephen, who has been the chief executive since 2009, will stand down at the end of this year and continue to support the corporation's international business activities until his retirement at the end of July 2015. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin UK in 2011, Peter Ruddock served a full military career with the Royal Air Force, leaving as an Air Marshal. During his career, he served as the RAF's Personnel Director, as Commander of the UK Air Component for both Afghanistan and Iraq and latterly as Director General Saudi Armed Forces Projects.
Lockheed Martin UK Partners with UK Supply Chain to Counter Cyber-Security Threats

Lockheed Martin UK announced that it is creating a virtual network of businesses to allow small UK-based companies, specializing in cyber-security expertise, to obtain support and investment for the development of new technologies and markets. The company is launching this new initiative to accelerate innovation, boost growth and allow innovative solutions created by the UK's cyber-security technology developers to grow and mature in order to counter the increasing threat of cyber-attacks globally. Working in partnership with technology merchant bank Restoration Partners, Lockheed Martin has created a Virtual Technology Cluster (VTC) that brings together industry, academia and the investment community. The company's VTC will provide small, specialist businesses with access to a ready-made ecosystem of capital, professional services and suppliers relevant to their field. Through a multi-tiered arrangement, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will have the ability to trade with larger companies and benefit from growth support as well as shared intelligence, experience and ideas. The company's VTC is a new way of working with suppliers to develop a comprehensive network that will stimulate growth in this crucially important technology sector.
Lockheed Martin UK Wins $1 Billion Contract

Lockheed Martin UK has been awarded a $1 billion contract by General Dynamics UK to deliver 245 turrets for the SCOUT Specialist Vehicle (SV). The contract to design, manufacture, integrate and test all 245 turrets will sustain 880 jobs at Lockheed Martin's Ampthill site in Bedfordshire. A number of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) across the UK who are involved in the supply chain to deliver the turret will also benefit from the production contract.
