VocaLink Reportedly In Talks To Merge With Sia
Nov 9 15
VocaLink Limited is reportedly in talks regarding a potential £2 billion merger with SIA S.p.A. A source close to one of the shareholder banks told that various private equity firms have expressed an interest in buying a large stake in VocaLink. But the VocaLink Board is believed to be favoring a merger with Sia, in which Italy's sovereign wealth fund owns a stake of more than 40%, the news source said.
SIA Mulls Acquisitions
Nov 5 14
SIA S.p.A. is seeking acquisitions. Massimo Arrighetti, Chief Executive Officer of SIA, told business daily MF-Milano Finanza, "SIA will seek to grow in both Italy and outside Italy, also via acquisitions." Arrighetti added, "However, SIA will not buy competitors since their value is exaggerated; it would rather buy client portfolios of other companies or bank payment management services considered non-core since they are not profitable enough." Arrighetti also said that buying competitors at exaggerated values does not make sense for SIA.
