Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia S.A. Key Developments

Brazil Reportedly Mulls To Sell Power Distributors In Single Block

Brazil could privatize six electricity distributors belonging to Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A. - Eletrobras (BOVESPA:ELET6) in a single auction block later this year, according to energy undersecretary Paulo Pedrosa. The government had planned to sell Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia S.A.; Centrais Elétricas de Rondônia SA; Eletroacre; Boa Vista Energia SA; Companhia Energética de Alagoas and Companhia Energética do Piauí at separate auctions, using the model adopted for the privatization of Celg Distribuição S.A.

Eletrobrás To Privatize 7 Enitities

Eletrobrás Participações S.A. - ELETROPAR (BOVESPA:LIPR3) is aiming to complete the privatization of seven of its distribution units by the end of 2017, energy minister Fernando Coelho Filho said. Celg Distribuição S.A. is expected to be the first company to be privatized at an auction on November 30, 2016. The other companies up for sale are Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia S.A., Boa Vista Energia SA, Eletrobras Distribuicao Acre e Guascor do Brasil Ltda., Companhia Energética de Alagoas, Companhia Energética do Piauí and Centrais Elétricas de Rondônia SA.

Privatization Of 6 Entities To Be Reportedly Delayed

Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A. - Eletrobras (BOVESPA:ELET6) made an attempt to raise at least BRL 7 billion in funds from the federal government in order to improve the financial situation of its distribution companies. These companies would then renew their concession contracts before being put up for sale. According to sources close to the matter, the renewal of contracts will change the sale date of Eletroacre, Amazonas Energia S.A., Centrais Elétricas de Rondônia SA- CERON, Companhia Energética de Alagoas, Companhia Energética do Piauí and Boa Vista Energia SA from end of 2016 to the end of 2017.
