Airbiquity Introduces OTAmatic for Connected Vehicle Over-The-Air Software Updates and Data Management
May 18 17
Airbiquity announced the launch of OTAmatic™, an automotive over-the-air (OTA) solution that orchestrates and automates software updates and data management for connected vehicles. New vehicle operation, performance, and features are increasingly reliant on software and data to function as designed. As such, the ability for automakers and suppliers to update software and modify data collection after vehicle purchase is quickly becoming crucial to managing the lifecycle of the vehicle, consumer driving experience, and continued realization of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), vehicle to everything (V2X) communications, and autonomous driving. The benefits of automotive OTA are multifaceted, including recall cost and cybersecurity mitigation, operations optimization, increased customer satisfaction and brand loyalty, and new opportunities for monetizing and expanding connected vehicle ecosystems. But planning and executing automotive OTA for millions of vehicles around the world is progressively complex given the sophistication of modern vehicle architectures and proliferation of electronic components, sensors, and systems from a wide-variety of suppliers. Airbiquity's OTAmatic solution takes the complexity out of automotive OTA by reliably and securely orchestrating and automating multi-ECU software updates and data management—at scale. This production-ready product has been specifically designed and engineered for automotive; can be purchased at the component level or as an end-to-end solution; can be deployed in the Airbiquity cloud, leading public clouds, or on-premise in customer data centers; and includes the features: Over-the-Air Orchestration: Policy-driven dependency, rollback, and recovery; End-to-End Security: Standards-based certification, authentication, and encryption; Data Management Framework: Dynamic data collection and upgradable analytics; Bandwidth & Storage Management: Intelligent network selection, data caching, and transfer; Consumer Interaction & Privacy: Customized notifications, prompts, and consent; and Campaign Management: Campaign creation, approvals, reporting, and administration.
Airbiquity to Showcase Over-the-Air Software and Data Management for Connected Vehicles at Consumer Electronics Conference
Dec 6 16
Airbiquity has announced that it will showcase its over-the-air (OTA) Software & Data Management offering at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 5-8. During the four-day event Airbiquity executives will host customers, analysts, and press at the Aria Hotel, where they'll be conducting presentations and demos of the Software & Data Management product which efficiently manages software updates and data collection for both single and multi-ECUs, powering critical systems and components across the vehicle platform. As more and more connected vehicles are enabled to receive OTA software updates—as well as export operational and driving behavior data—automakers will need a way to efficiently manage the increasing complexity of doing OTA for millions of vehicles with a multitude of electronic components, systems, and software files from numerous suppliers. Airbiquity'sSoftware & Data Management solution addresses this need with a robust, automated service delivery capability specifically tailored to the unique needs of automotive. Using a back-end service management portal, automakers can efficiently manage both OTA software updates and data collection—at scale—with highly refined vehicle and device targeting, discrete policy and privacy controls, and customizable consumer notifications to name a few features.
Harman International Industries, Incorporated and Airbiquity Announce the First Automotive Grade End-To-End Intrusion Detection Solution for Connected Vehicles
Oct 31 16
Harman International Industries, Incorporated and Airbiquity announced the first automotive grade end-to-end intrusion detection system (IDS) for connected vehicles at TU-Automotive Europe 2016 in Munich, Germany. With the increasing dependency on software to power vehicle systems and features, cybersecurity has become a threat to connected vehicles and the introduction of new driving assistance, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, and autonomous driving capabilities. By combining HARMAN's Intrusion Detection and Prevention System inside the vehicle with Airbiquity's cloud-based Choreo™ service delivery platform and Software & Data Management solution, the two companies now deliver the most robust connected vehicle security threat detection and response capability for automotive customers and their consumers alike. HARMAN's embedded ECUSHIELD software—which provides continuous security threat monitoring and identification for internal vehicle networks—detects and logs security intrusions locally. Once logged, Airbiquity'sChoreo platform and Software & Data Management solution collects the ECUSHIELD intrusion information from the vehicle, aggregates it in the cloud, and automates alerts and reports so automotive customers can quickly assess and execute security-centric actions—including the secure transmission and installation of vehicle software updates from the cloud to mitigate future threats and restore impacted systems and components.
