Cristal Union S.C.A. Key Developments

Bids Reportedly Due For biofuel business

The bidding deadline for ethanol operations of Abengoa SA (BME:ABG) is looming. The acquisition offers for the business could be due as early as April 8, 2016. The bioethanol plant at Rotterdam has struck a positive note over its debt restructuring in March 2016. "This Friday, officially bids have to be in for the biofuel business. Then the serious negotiations take place after Friday," said one industry source. "Discussions are on-going for main bidders, various bids are on the table," said another industry source, adding: "Two or three [bidders] are in this [ethanol] industry, apparently one [other] is just a capital financial equity company." "The word is, while there are not many buyers, [there is] strong sentiment to keep it afloat," said a third. Alcogroup S.A., Cristal Union S.C.A. along with others are a few names of the bidders.
