The New South Wales (NSW) Government, the University of Sydney, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and Tilray Announces Clinical Trial Partnership

The New South Wales (NSW) Government, the University of Sydney, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and Tilray announced a research partnership to develop a novel treatment for nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy. Tilray is providing a proprietary capsule formulation for the proposed trial, which will allow researchers to trial an investigational product containing two active ingredients extracted from the cannabis plant, cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It is expected that a trial will begin later this year and will examine the safety and tolerability of a novel cannabis-derived study drug in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The trial will be conducted at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney and at other sites in NSW and will be led by an interdisciplinary group of researchers with expertise in oncology and cannabinoids.

The University of Sydney Announces Appointments to John Grill Centre for Project Leadership's Advisory Board

The University of Sydney announced the appointment of Dr. Ken Henry AC and Bob Rollinson as new members of the John Grill Centre for Project Leadership's advisory board. Further strengthening the Centre's industry and government ties in Australia and globally, Dr. Henry and Mr. Rollinson bring a wealth of experience to the board, and take up their appointments effective immediately. Among several distinguished positions, Dr. Henry currently serves as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman-Designate of National Australia Bank, as well as a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and Reconciliation Australia. Meanwhile, Mr. Rollinson is currently Chairman of Salamander Technologies Pty Ltd, as well as a member of the Boards of Salamander Group (UK) and the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering, based at the University of Sydney.
