Drake & Scull Engineering to Form Joint Venture with Habtoor Leighton Specon

Drake & Scull Engineering has signed a joint venture agreement with Habtoor Leighton Specon to provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing services for part of the $1,090 million Jewel of the Creek Package 8 complex. Both the entities are based in UAE. Package 8 consists of five hospitality buildings ranging between 15 and 19 floors, featuring a hotel and serviced apartments buildings, a ballroom and an cafe; a marina, including four foot bridges and one vehicular bridge; and hard and soft landscaping works. As part of the agreement, the JV will have an investment of $107.55 million and will work under the main contractor of the project, the Habtoor Leighton Group, to deliver the MEP works of the package which consist of fit-out works in basements, complete MEP works for buildings including systems associated with the latest technologies for smart and sustainable construction, and associated external works. The construction work on Jewel of the Creek Package 8 has commenced and completion is targeted for the second quarter, 2017.

EMCOR Group (UK) plc announced that it has been awarded a five-year Total Facilities Management (TFM) extension to its longstanding contract with BAE Systems Military Air & Information, who design and build fixed wing military aircraft and training aircraft, as well as provide training, support and information services for the UK RAF and other customers worldwide. EMCOR UKs responsibilities include providing BAE Systems with a One Stop Shop TFM footprint. This footprint is applied at three major advanced, complex engineering and manufacturing sub-assembly and final assembly facilities, including research and development, as well as strategic office accommodation. EMCOR UKs asset management methodology at BAE Systems is certified to PAS 55 Asset Management standard, an internationally recognised specification, and EMCOR UK utilises this expertise to deliver integrated life cycle maintenance services to over 500 multi-use facilities, including restaurants, hospitality and grab and go food delivery, set on over 1000 acres of land, as well as day-to-day managed services to 11,000 BAE Systems colleagues.
