SEAT Signs Deal to Supply its Leon to the Two Italian Police Forces

SEAT announced that it has signed a deal to supply its Leon to the two Italian police forces. According to a statement, the contract relates to the five-door hatchback body style using a 2.0-litre 150PS diesel engine. The first 106 have been delivered to the Carabinieri (which has ordered 450) and 100 have gone to the Polizia di Stato (which has ordered 475). However, up to 4,000 vehicles could be supplied over the next three years as part of an optional expanded deal.

SEAT, S.A. has reported that loss for the year ended December 31, 2014 was EUR 65.7 million, compared to a loss of EUR 148.7 million for the year ended December 31, 2013. Net sales for the year ended December 31, 2014 were EUR 7.5 billion, compared to EUR 6.47 billion for the year ended December 31, 2013. Operating loss for the year ended December 31, 2014 was EUR 166.7 million, compared to an operating loss of EUR 216.7 million for the year ended December 31, 2013.
