Yokogawa Electric Korea Wins Major Refinery Control Systems Order from S-Oil Corporation

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that its subsidiary, Yokogawa Electric Korea, has received an order to deliver control systems for a new plant that S-Oil Corporation, a Korean oil & gas subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, plans to build at its Onsan refinery complex in the city of Ulsan. The control systems are for a residue fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) and auxiliary facilities that will produce mainly polypropylene and propylene oxides. The Onsan refinery complex has a capacity of 669,000 barrels of oil per day and produces a variety of fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical products. S-Oil plans to expand its operations by collecting residue oils from this complex and processing them in the RFCC unit to produce polypropylene and other valuable petrochemicals. With this new unit, S-Oil plans to increase its production of high-octane gasoline and targets the annual production of 405,000 tons of polypropylene and 300,000 tons of propylene oxides. For this new facility, Yokogawa Electric Korea will deliver CENTUM® VP integrated production control systems, ProSafe®-RS safety instrumented systems, Plant Resource Manager (PRM®) field device management software packages, and other products, and will be responsible for the engineering, installation, and commissioning of these systems and the training of plant operators. This is Yokogawa's first control systems order from S-Oil.

Yokogawa Electric Korea Co., Ltd. and Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation Wins Control System Orders for Large Thermal Power and Desalination Plants in Qatar

Yokogawa Electric Korea and Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation, have received orders to provide control systems for thermal power and desalination plants that are to be constructed for Umm Al Houl Power, a Qatari company whose main businesses are power generation and water desalination. The control system orders received by Yokogawa Electric Korea are for a thermal power plant and a reverse osmosis desalination plant, and they were placed by Samsung C&T and Acciona Agua, respectively. The control system order received by Yokogawa Solution Service is for a multi-stage flashing system desalination plant, and it was placed by Hitachi Zosen Corporation.

Yokogawa Electric Korea Co. Ltd. Wins Order from Samsung C&T Corporation to Supply Control Systems for Rabigh 2

Yokogawa Electric Korea Co. Ltd. has won an order from Samsung C&T Corporation to supply control systems for the Rabigh 2 combined cycle power plant, which is being built in Rabigh on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. This power plant will have three 700 MW combined cycle power units with gas turbines, giving it a total capacity of 2,100 MW. The plant is being built for Al Mourjan For Electricity Production Company, whose shareholders are the Saudi Electricity Company (50%) and a consortium (50%) consisting of Samsung C&T Corporation and ACWA Power International, an independent power producer. The plant is scheduled to start operation in June 2017. For this project, Yokogawa will deliver a CENTUMR VP integrated production control system for the monitoring and operation of all plant facilities, including the gas turbines, exhaust-heat-recovery boilers, and steam turbines, and for the control of the exhaust-heat-recovery boilers. The company will be responsible for engineering, and will also provide support for installation, commissioning, and operator training. This system is scheduled to be delivered by the middle of next year 2015.
