Quilter Cheviot Appoints Scott Stevens as Head of Business Development Role

Quilter Cheviot announced that it has appointed Scott Stevens for a new head of business development role to oversee the firm's UK growth push. Assuming the position from 16 May, Stevens will be based out of company's London office, reporting to chief executive David Loudon. Stevens most recent role was with BNY Mellon, where he was head of marketing, investment management. In total he brings more than 22 years sales and marketing experience to the firm. Prior to BNY Mellon, Stevens was director, head of distribution for Matterhorn Investment Management. This followed a five-year stint at F&C Asset Management, where he was head of marketing then head of global wholesale sales & marketing.

Quilter Cheviot has appointed Nick Wood as its new head of investment fund research. In his new role, Wood will oversee an eight-member team and manage fund research as well as third-party manager investments. The research team will include both open-ended and closed-ended funds across all regions and asset classes. Wood, who joined Quilter Cheviot in 2012 from Stamford Associates, was most recently a senior fund research analyst at the firm. Wood's promotion follows Quilter Cheviot s integration with and Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) earlier this month to form a combined multi-asset investment solutions unit. The newly created investment unit will be headed by Quilter Cheviot's Ben Mountain and OMGI's Anthony Gillham and comprises portfolio management, fund research, asset allocation and the managed portfolio service.

Quilter Cheviot has restructured its executive team following its £585 million acquisition by Old Mutual Wealth in February. The discretionary investment manager's previous head of regions David Loudon is now head of investment management, a new role within the company. He will be replace by Richard Thorn, the current head of the Liverpool office. Investment director Donald Norman will become head of private clients, supporting Quilter Cheviot chief executive Martin Baines. In another newly-created role, current executive director and head of Jersey office Tim Childe will become head of international to boost Old Mutual International's global influence. The executive committee has also appointed the head of Leicester office Tim Horrocks as chairman of the company's conduct risk and TCF committee. Finally, Mark McLeod and Paul Martin will retain their positions as Quilter Cheviot chief financial officer and head of compliance, respectively.
